Imagica with kids: where to stay, how far, what to pack
Make Imagica a two-day family trip instead of an exhausting day out: where to stay nearby, how far it is, a relaxed plan and a packing checklist.

Imagica (now styled Imagicaa) in Khalapur, near Khopoli, is one of the most popular family outings from Mumbai and Pune, with a theme park, a water park and more. Done in a single day, though, it often ends with tired kids, a long drive and traffic on the Expressway.
The easier way: stay a night near Imagica and split the fun over two days.
How far is Imagica?
- From Mumbai: about 2 hours by road via the Mumbai–Pune Expressway (Khalapur exit), depending on traffic
- From Pune: about 1½ to 2 hours
- From our homes: about 15–20 minutes, on the Khopoli–Pali road
Where to stay near Imagica
Our homes are private flats in a gated township, not hotel rooms, which makes a real difference with kids: a kitchen for milk and quick meals, space to spread out, and a quiet night after a loud day.
- Shangri-La: 2-BHK, sleeps 4. The best fit for families, with three balconies.
- Elysium: 1-BHK with a swing (kids love it) and a long balcony
- Shunya: compact 1-BHK for a couple with a little one
Children are welcome, and infants stay free. See all stays near Imagica.
A relaxed two-day plan
Day 1: Arrive and settle
- Drive in, check in from 1:00 PM and have lunch.
- Let the kids nap or play. Evening walk, early dinner from the township restaurant, early night.
Day 2: A full day at the park
- Reach Imagica at opening time. The first hours are the least crowded.
- Theme park or water park (or both, if the kids have the energy).
- Head back to the home to rest, or drive home after the park if you've booked just one night. With two nights, you avoid driving tired.
Tip: book park tickets online in advance and check the current timings, height rules for rides and the water-park dress code on Imagica's official website before you go.
