Workation near Mumbai: Wi-Fi, quiet and food options
Swap the city noise for a balcony desk in the Sahyadris. Here is exactly what working from our homes near Khopoli is like: Wi-Fi, power, food and focus.

A workation near Mumbai sounds perfect until the Wi-Fi drops in the middle of a call. If you're thinking of working from the hills for a few days or a couple of weeks, here's an honest picture of what it's like at our homes near Khopoli and Imagica, about 2 to 2½ hours from Mumbai by road.
Wi-Fi you can work on
- Fast Wi-Fi in every home. Shunya, for example, has a 60 Mbps connection, plenty for video calls, uploads and streaming in the evening.
- A desk-friendly set-up. Elysium has a desk for work days, and the balconies make the best "meeting room" you'll ever have.
- Tell us if anything drops. Signal disruptions are rare, and we sort them out quickly on WhatsApp.
Tip: for important calls, keep your phone's hotspot ready as a backup, like you would anywhere outside the city.
Quiet, really quiet
The homes are inside a gated township, at the end of a short drive through jungle. There's no traffic noise, no horns, and evenings are so silent that you'll hear the crickets. It's ideal for deep work, writing, coding or simply thinking. It's also why we ask guests to keep music low after 10 PM.
Power: what to expect
It's a ghat and jungle area, so occasional power cuts happen. There's 6 to 8 hours of power backup. There's also a planned power cut on Tuesdays during the day, so we suggest:
- Charging laptops and power banks the night before
- Planning heavy calls for another day of the week, if you can
- Asking us which points run on backup when you arrive
Food options
- Township restaurant: delivers to the flat. The menu is in the flat.
- Cook your own: every home has a working kitchen with a fridge, microwave, stove and the basics for simple meals.
- Welcome basket: snacks, tea and coffee waiting when you arrive.
- Note: Swiggy and Zomato don't deliver to this location, so plan groceries on your way in. Khopoli town is on the route.
Between work blocks
- Morning chai on the balcony facing the hills
- A walk to the Amba riverfront, lovely when the river is flowing after the rains
- The gym, and the township pool (paid, by the hour)
- A weekend at Imagica, 15–20 minutes away, or a drive up to Lonavala and Khandala
Who it suits
- Remote workers and freelancers who want a calm week with good Wi-Fi
- Couples where one or both are working
- Small teams planning a short offsite. We can share GST invoices in your company's name.
Which home to choose
- Elysium: 1-BHK with a desk, a swing and a long balcony
- Shunya: compact 1-BHK, simple and calm, with pool access
- Shangri-La: 2-BHK with three balconies, great for two people working in separate rooms
